Our Purpose

Since 1927 professionals from the admissions, registration, records, and related service areas of Wisconsin’s institutions of higher learning have been gathering to network, share ideas, and promote higher education. WACRAO, a not-for-profit organization, exists to provide professional development opportunities to its members and to the staff of its member institutions, foster cooperation, promote the enrollment services profession, and contribute to the advancement of education in Wisconsin.

The Corporation is organized exclusively for the purpose of engaging in any activity which a Corporation may be organized under the Wisconsin Nonstock Corporation Law, Chapter 181, Wisconsin Statutes and section 501(c)(6) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended, or any successor  statute thereto (the "Code"). In furtherance of the aforementioned purpose, the Corporation's  specific purposes shall include the following:

• To promote the best practices of individuals involved in records management, admissions, enrollment management, administrative information technology and student services.
• To provide a forum for the exchange of information and ideas among its Members.
• To provide mentoring and professional development opportunities for its Members.
• To foster a spirit of unity, cooperation, and professional pride among its Members an others in the higher education community.
• To advance education in Wisconsin.

Preamble

As written in 1958

"Whereas the Wisconsin Association of Collegiate Registrar and Admissions Officers from its inception has had no Constitution and whereas the need is apparent for more formal statement of the Association's organization and purpose the members of the Association of this twenty-fourth day of October  in the year of our Lord the nineteen hundred fifty-eighth, by a unanimous vote of the institutional representatives present and voting do hereby declare the adoption of the following constitution."

Mission & Vision 

The Wisconsin Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (WACRAO), in line with it's national leading organization AACRAO, envision a community centered on learner success driven by professional excellence and leadership in enrollment and academic services.

WACRAO works to provide support and connections throughout the state of Wisconsin, as regionally, to admissions and registrar professionals. The organization fosters an environment of sharing through conferences, professional development opportunities, engagement with the national organization, and networking between public, private, and technical colleges throughout the state to allow members to better serve current and prospective students.
