Since 1927 professionals from the admission, registration, records, and related service areas of Wisconsin’s institutions of higher learning have been gathering to network, share ideas, and promote higher education. WACRAO, a not-for-profit organization, exists to provide professional development opportunities to its members and staffs of its member institutions, foster cooperation, promote the enrollment services profession, and contribute to the advancement of education in Wisconsin.

UPPER MIDWEST AND WISCONSIN ACRAOS WIN AACRAO OCKERMAN AWARD

Thanks to the efforts of Tina Falkner, 2006-2007 Upper Midwest ACRAO (UMACRAO) president, UMACRAO and WACRAO have won the AACRAO Ockerman Award for our 2006 UMACRAO/WACRAO joint conference held in Bloomington, MN. Tina submitted an application, on behalf of both organizations, for the award, and was recently notified of its acceptance as an award winner.

The Ockerman Award “recognizes up to three outstanding state and regional activities, such as program sessions, projects, workshops, and publications.”

Many individuals worked to make our joint conference a tremendous success, including Carolyn Brady, LAC co-chair, other members of the LAC, members of the standing (program) committees, as well as our counterparts with UMACRAO. Please join me in extending a hearty thank you and congratulations to all of them.
